After a short illness, Mrs. Dolores Steele went home to
be with the Lord on February 21 after a life of minister
ing to others. She was seventy-nine. Her husband Dr.
Arthur Steele was one of the founders and first presi Sports
dent of Clearwater Christian College. She leaves be
hind a Godly heritage and a focus of ministering to those
around her. Service to others was the only life-style
that Mrs. Steele knew, and she
never swayed from it. This ser
vice-oriented life began to take
shape as a teen. The Lord gave
her a love for music and the abil Ploy
ity to play the piano. Mrs. Steele
used these talents for God, serv
ing in as a church pianist from
her youth until she passed away.
She followed the pattern of Prov
erbs 31 well as she dealt with the day-to-day needs of
her children and husband. This was perhaps her great
est ministry. Mrs. Steele preferred to serve behind the Jr/Sr
scene in most cases. The idea of supporting the minis Graduation
try was easily observed by the students. They consid
ered her a kind, supportive example and pattern for their 1 0
own lives to follow. Those who knew her rejoice in her
testimony and the legacy of service that she leaves be
hind. Family, friends, colleagues, and students hon
ored Mrs. Steele at a memorial service in the Gospel Conclusion
Center Memorial Chapel.
