“W e chased them all
through the high school, but
we didn’t get them. They
were on m otorcycles,”
stated the self proclaimed Dy
namic Duo, Senior Chad Case
and Junior Greg Ryba, when
asked about their adventures
as parking lot people. Maybe
the fictitious adventures of the
parking lot people were more
exciting than the actual job.
The parking lot people or
the greeters were students who
sat in the commons and watched
the front doors. They greeted
people who came in the school
and “kept a keen eye on all our
vehicles,” said Ryba, describing
his job.
According to Assistant
Principal Garry Jurgens, all the
greeters did a good job. Jurgens
said that people who came into
the school commented on how
nice it was to have people greet
them at the door.
Why would someone give
up a study hall to do this? “Chad
Case twisted my arm and said
he would beat me up if I didn’t
do it (become a greeter),” said
Ryba. Students also received
one credit that went on their
school transcript. Some stu
dents did this job for personal
reasons. “I feel that my life is
complete now that I have been
a parking lot attendant for
Ralston High School,” said Case,
