The Student Missionary Fellowship underwent a rebirth. First
semester we had a few meetings with speakers such as Danielle Petite
and Justin White, but we concentrated mostly on praying and planning
a course of action to get SMF back on its feet. The purpose of SMF is
to connect the students of CCC with missions, because God has called
all Christians to be involved in missions! We desire that students would
“get it” — that they would understand the huge need for Christ all over
the world, and that they would realize their responsibility to serve God
by getting involved!
To fulfill the goal that we have set, SMF is starting some new
ministries and planning some activities. One new ministry we’re start
ing is a dorm missionary adoption project. Each devotion group will
have a missionary family that they will pray for and keep in touch with.
We’re excited about this ministry because getting to know a missionary
family transfers the missionaries’ burden right into our own hearts. It
will really help to bridge the gap between us on the home front and the
missionaries that need our constant support.
Other projects and activities that we have planned are an all
night prayer vigil, world region prayer groups, and a campus missions Jessica Walker, Phil Engle, that the Student Mission
newsletter. Our main goal through all of this, though, is that we would and Michelle Burgraff ary Fellowship has. More
