HUMANITIES

The purposes of the Humanities Depart
ment are two-fold: to supplement the curricu
lum with academic and cultural experiences
which do not fit easily into the traditional
five disciplines, and to give students the
opportunity to define HUM ANITY in per
sonal terms as well as in those that have been
conventionally set for them. This department
offers course in music, art, dramatics, reli
gion, film study, logic, ethics, philosophy,
and even thanatology. This year the classes
have taken field trips to the city hall, art
                 museums, and a funeral home.
Mr. Jaswinski’s class on visit to city hall and Mayor Virginia Young.
