The  emphasis  of  the  Science  Department
                                                                                          is  placed  on  the  learning  of  scientific  con­
                                                                                         cepts  and  their  application  to  specific  situa­
                                                                                          tions.  This  department  has  separate  physics,
                                                                                          chemistry,  and  biology  laboratories  for  expe­
                                                                                          riments,  and  the cubicles  for independent
                                                                                          research.  The inter-relationship of  mathemat­
                                                                                          ics  and  science  is  stressed,  especially  in  the
                                                                                          Math  IV/Physics  course.  The  Marine  Biol­
                                                                                         ogy class includes two trips to Seacamp at Big
                                                                                          Pine  Key  as  an  educational  and  enjoyable
                                                                                         experience.
