The emphasis of the Science Department
is placed on the learning of scientific con
cepts and their application to specific situa
tions. This department has separate physics,
chemistry, and biology laboratories for expe
riments, and the cubicles for independent
research. The inter-relationship of mathemat
ics and science is stressed, especially in the
Math IV/Physics course. The Marine Biol
ogy class includes two trips to Seacamp at Big
Pine Key as an educational and enjoyable
experience.
