went to California for vacation. We just
got back last week.
“Sounds like fun. 1 stayed here all
summer. I worked a lot but I still had
time for fun. There were baseball and
softball games almost every night. 1 saw a
lot of people there. ‘Spite Night’ was
another place 1 saw a lot of friends. It
was held every Thursday night at Peony
Park. A group of us went camping at
Louisville and at Two Rivers. That and
my trip to Worlds of Fun with the band
was my vacation.
“The Fourth of July was traditional;
there was a dance, parade, and water
fights.”
“Did you go to any parties?”
“Yeah, there were a few. Most of them
were at the Q Twin Drive-in. As usual, it
was a pretty nice summer.”
After all the excitement most students
were ready to settle down to the routine
of school.
Sum m er was spent with fam ily on vacations as well as with
friends. Sophomore Debbi Johnson and senior Cathi Johnson ride
horses at the YMCA Camp in Estes Park, Colorado.

The over-100 F. tem p eratu res and the 9 8 % humidity made
the summer almost unbearable without a pool Seniors John
