“Sounds like fun. 1 stayed here all
summer. I worked a lot but I still had
time for fun. There were baseball and
softball games almost every night. 1 saw a
lot of people there. ‘Spite Night’ was
another place 1 saw a lot of friends. It
was held every Thursday night at Peony
Park. A group of us went camping at
Louisville and at Two Rivers. That and
my trip to Worlds of Fun with the band
                     was my vacation.
                       “The  Fourth  of  July  was  traditional;
there was a dance, parade, and water
                     fights.”
“Did you go to any parties?”
“Yeah, there were a few. Most of them
were at the Q Twin Drive-in. As usual, it
                     was a pretty nice summer.”
After all the excitement most students
were ready to settle down to the routine
                     of school.
