homecoming
( €XT€M W O RS! ) game against
Thomas
Jefferson.
The week
started with Sweats Day, when students
showed off their sweat suits.
Tuesday was Hats Off Day. Students
and faculty displayed their crazy and
“vogue” hats.
Cowboy-Cowgirl Day was Wednesday.
Students displayed their different cowboy
outfits which ranged from the traditional
to the “urban cowboy” look.
The annual Snake Dance was also held
Wednesday. The students made a human
chain down to Ft. Ralston where they had
a bonfire.
Thursday was Crazy Sock Day, and
students displayed their crazy socks, but
added a little extra. The sophomores
dressed to freak out T.J., juniors all
dressed in p.j.’s, and the seniors dressed
in togas.
Thursday evening each class decorated
a section of the gym, as the first event in
the Mock Olympics.
Friday was Over-All Spirit Day, and
I almost everyone wore overalls or
suspenders. Students and faculty were
released early in order to compete in the
Mock Olympics.
i Faculty, on the advice of Mr. Bob
Benzel, decided to boycott the Mock
Olympics. “We merely took our cue from
President Carter, who asked patriotic
Americans to boycott the Olympics.
Those teachers who boycotted were even
presented with a gold medal.”
Tragedy struck the Mock Olympics
when the freshmen, sophomore, and
junior prettiest girls were kidnapped by a
band of mysterious thieves. All candidates
were returned unharmed later that
evening.
Seniors and sophomores tied for first
place, freshman placed second, and
juniors, third.
The week ended with a 36-0 victory
