                magic changes

I J lack leather jackets, white bobby
                     socks, poodle skirts and pony
tails: what was Ralston High School
coming to? They were coming to see
                the spring play production, “Grease.”
Ralston gave a total of eight
                productions of this spring spectacular.
However, before the show could go on,
many preparations had to be made.
Words had to be cut and others added,
and a new scene was even written. In
the movie “Grease” there was a sports
section, so Mr. John Morrissey, who
adapted the script for the high school
production, added it to the play.
The audience was invited to dress in
fifties clothes for the Friday and
                Saturday night productions. These
performances were followed by a sock
hop in the cafeteria, where the
audience could talk and dance with
                their favorite “Grease” characters. To
add to the excitement, a goldfish-eating
                contest was held between Mr.
Morrissey and junior Scott Gilliland; the
first one to get sick lost.
                  An extra performance was added
because of the fast sellout of tickets.
The theater was always full, and if
somebody couldn’t make it, all he had
to do was call the school and sell his
ticket, because there was a long waiting
                list.

Surprised at the “ new ” Sandy (Senior Mary Kay Gilreath),
Danny (junior Rob Ek), Frenchy (senior Teri Cvitak), and Doody
(senior Ron LaRosa) look in amazement at how she has changed.
A ttending the ten year reunion of Rydell High School, Miss
Lynch (Ms. Martha Novak), Miss Mismy (Ms. Jan Selinger), Patty
Simcox, (junior Susan Magisana), and Coach (Mr. Larry Hill) listen
to Eugene (senior Tim Pilakowski) talk about the graduating class
                of ’59.
Telling Frenchy to quit beauty school and go back to high
school, Teen Angel (Mr. Lane Plugge) sings “Beauty School
                Dropout."
