The next night
Ralston students,
not to be
outdone, spray-painted “Ralston # 1 ”
on the Papio students’ school. The
Ralston students left with the thought
of victory on their minds. This was an
almost constant cycle between rival
schools.
Burke, Papillion, and Millard were
often thought of as rival schools by the
Ralston students. They were not rivals
just in sports, but also in such areas as
debate, drama, and math.
Even though the schools were rivals,
that didn’t dampen the students’ social
life. Many Ralston students dated
people from other schools.
Rival schools weren’t always
unfriendly; there were times when
students had joined together at Buffalo
Billy’s, Westroads, or McDonalds and
felt a warm atmosphere around them.
