he house was dark and eerie,
T with a maze of surprises around
every corner. Things jumped out at
people, shoving snakes and rats in
their faces.
Spook
SChRCD STRNGHT houses were
J the main
attraction
for many students in October. Neither
cold weather nor inflation stopped
students from participating in what
seemed to be the national past time:
getting scared.
No matter where the spook house
was located people would drive
miles and stand in line for up to two
hours, to be scared for 10-20 minutes.
But spook houses were not the only
activity during Halloween. Parties both
in and out of school were also
occurring.
Key Club carved pumpkins to give
to the Hunington Park Manor and
Papillion Manor, and sponsored a
Thanksgiving food drive for needy
families.
“We are a service organization; we
give service to the community and
school. We are sponsored by the
Kiwanis Club of Ralston,” said sponsor
Jo Rives.
Fall was interrupted with a sneak
preview of winter when an early
October snow caught most students by
surprise.
But the snow soon melted away and
everyone was back to the regular fall
routine of raking leaves, football, and
getting ready for Halloween.
The first snow of the season caught students by suprise. most
were without snow tires or ice scrapers
Jum ping out to scare people or grab them was the main
