March 2022 Vol 38 Issue 3

          Greetings Sorors,

Who are we? Explores. Creators. Problem solvers. Critical thinkers. Innovators.
Mothers. Wives. Professionals. Black women have played an integral role in
history. Known for organizing and strategizing for change. Known for
uplifting and standing up for not only themselves, but also being a strong voice
for others. Known for their resilience despite the efforts of society to minimize
          their voice.

March is the month we honor the contributions of women to our society. I am reminded of the story of
Henrietta Lacks. A black woman who has been described as one of the most impactful women in
science and medicine. Her cells, HeLa, lead to the discovery and development of medical technology.
Black women have been recognized for and made huge accomplishments as activist, abolitionist, artist,
athletes, politicians, musicians, journalist, scientist, doctors, lawyers, educators, and the list goes on.
Black women are and have always been the epitome of grace, wisdom, perseverance, and change
makers. Who are we…black girl magic! We set out to serve, change, protect, uplift, impact, love, grow,
and improve ourselves, our families, and our communities. Keep the stories of black women in history
alive by telling their stories all year.

We are also celebrating National Credit Education Month. Regions Bank’s Next Step Financial Education

with managing money and increasing your financial awareness and wellness. Visit the website to view the
resources or start learning in one of the self-paced, interactive courses that are designed to assist you with
managing money and building your wealth.

The Quarter 1 Chairman meeting will be held on March 21 at 7:00 p.m. This meeting is for all current
and aspiring chairmen. Save the date! The 69th Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference will be held at the
Hampton Convention Center from March 24-27. Support the International Service Projects during the
conference and remember, Lambda Omega is striving for 8,000 steps from now until May. Let’s build
          some healthy lifestyle practices together.

As we continue to lead and organize valiantly to engage with our community, remember, let us do so
          with LOVE.

          Warm sisterly regards,
          Soror Karen Bazemore-Person
