After reviewing the original Nikon Coolshot rangefinder, I was convinced
that I had found the perfect yardage source for my golf game. Nay, nay my
friends. Nikon now has the Coolshot 80 VR (Vibration Reduction), which
confronts and solves a problem many golfers may encounter with their
rangefinders. Like others, I always found it difficult to “lock in” my target
for proper distance calculation. Nikon’s VR system virtually eliminates
that hindrance. The First Target Priority algorithm allows you to measure
the yardage to a flagstick on a green with woods in the background. New models still have the compact
style and fast measurement response that we have always enjoyed, plus they both feature being waterproof
and fog proof. I have come across and reviewed many rangefinders as you might expect, but after just a
couple rounds using the Nikon Coolshot 80 VR, I can safely say that I have secured MY target! (Ciattei)
