wetlands through the layout form breathtaking vistas at Honeybrook. If you
are looking for natural beauty combined with great golf, look no further than
Honeybrook.

The rest of the Raspberry Golf Trail
reads like an all-star lineup of mid-
Atlantic golf. The four courses run by
Raspberry Golf Management represent
the trail in the Commonwealth.
Raspberry Golf and Hunt Club in
Leesburg arrived on scene among the
originators of upscale golf in Northern
Virginia. Augustine in Stafford, Bull
Run in Haymarket, and Old Hickory
in Woodbridge all offer solid layouts
that have been recognized for their Royal Manchester

outstanding conditions and service. Maryland also features two designs by world-
class architect Arthur Hills. Both modern marvels Blue Mash in Laytonsville and
Waverly Woods in Marriottsville feature Hills’ unique green complexes. Seven
other courses in Pennsylvania complete the Raspberry Golf Trail. You get two great
courses, the Founders and Iron Forge at Penn National in Mt. Alto, plus The Links
of Gettysburg’s unique, thrilling layout nestled near the historic battlefield. P. B.
Dye’s Iron Valley in Lebanon has all of the customary trademarks you find on that
builder’s courses. Golden Oaks in Fleetwood is constantly rated by both local and
regional players as a definite must-play. Broad Run in West Chester was recently
awarded “Pennsylvania Golf Course of the Year” and was created by Rees Jones.
Inniscrone in Avondale was originally designed as a private club and you’ll feel as
though you were at one when you play this spectacular layout. Royal Manchester
in York brings links golf and wispy native grasses to the banks of the Susquehanna
River.

2016 also brings a bigger and more exciting schedule for
the Raspberry Golf Trail Tour. Entry fees to these events
include food, beverages, and gross and net prizes. All
that’s required is a USGA handicap to participate in net
competition while preventing the dreaded sandbaggers.
Several different formats are featured in the eight events
kicking off in April at Augustine Golf Club and wrapping up with an invitational
at Bulle Rock in October. Other trail courses playing host are Raspberry Falls,
Royal Manchester, Broad Run, Deerfield, and Blue Mash. All competitions last 1
day with 2 players with the exception of a 2 day/4 player powwow at Rocky Gap
in September. Take time to get a partner for some of these tournaments. I think it’s
also pretty cool that you get a trail credit towards your card at the course you play.

So many regional golfers make the Raspberry Golf Trail part of their annual golf
schedule and many will choose 2016 as the year to do some traveling and blaze the
trail. Seize your chance to play some of the premium golf courses over a four-state
area. Now, who’s ready to sign up?
