ABOVE AND BEYOND: JULIA MAKES A BIG IMPACT

Do it Best has a long history of supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Indiana, including The Big DONation, and
Sales Assistant Julia Monterroso has a passion for being a mentor and positive influence for children in the program.

“Five years ago I felt called to apply to be a Big (or mentor) to a Little (mentee) through the program,” Julia said. “Since then I’ve had
the privilege of pouring into my student and sharing experiences with her that she might not have otherwise.”
Wanting to do even more for students in the program, Julia arranged for a group of teens from BBBS to take a tour of our Fort Wayne
office to learn about possible career options and see what it means to work in different departments across our company.
“When I was in high school, I had no idea there were so many different jobs available. My parents have a small family business and
that was all I knew,” said Julia. “The careers I considered in college were the ones I had limited exposure to. It wasn't until after I
started working in an office environment that I discovered how many options there really are. My goal with bringing these high school
students in for a tour was to help them consider other less obvious opportunities that are right here in Fort Wayne.”
The students were very appreciative of the experience, and it was a great opportunity for Julia to live out the Do it Best philosophy of
serving others as we would like to be served.
