                   SAYING GOODBYE TO GARY NACKERS

Vice President of Lumber and Building Materials Gary Nackers has announced his retirement, effective June 1. Gary
has been a part of the Do it Best team since 1999. Starting out as a territory sales manager, he worked his way up and
relocated to the Fort Wayne headquarters when he became our national sales manager. Gary has been VP of LBM since 2014. He
has helped our team work through some of the toughest years in LBM history and efficiently led us to success through the COVID-19
        pandemic.
“It’s going to be tough to say goodbye to an industry that’s been a central part of my life for nearly 40 years,” Gary said. “I am
tremendously blessed to have spent much of it alongside the committed LBM team at Do it Best. Most importantly, though, it’ll be the
opportunities to serve our member-owners and help them grow their businesses that I’ll miss the most.”
“Gary’s commitment to driving growth for our members has been a critical part of our success as an agile, world-class LBM partner,”
said President and CEO Dan Starr. “Of course, any transition like this brings its own range of emotions. While we are certainly sad
        to see a team member
        with Gary’s vast industry
        knowledge retire, we
        are equally excited
        to have someone
        with Russ Kathrein’s
        reputation stepping
        into this important
        leadership position.”
        Russ, who joined the
Do it Best team in 2020
        as an LBM business
        development manager,
        will become the next
VP of LBM on June 1. A
        retirement celebration
        for Gary will take place
        on May 26 in Fort
        Wayne and streamed
        live on Google Meet.
