MESQUITE STANDS UNITED family news access OUT AND ABOUT:
The Mesquite team got an early start on their 2021 United Way UP, UP AND AWAY!
campaign with a team raffle of some CWO items. Winners included
Stacey Flores and Cole Atwood. But the real winner is United Way-funded agencies
since the raffle raised almost $1,000.
Jon and his daughter Brie enjoy a sunny day on the

FURST PLACES FIRST
Vice President of HR Gary Furst celebrates his son Caleb’s latest sports achievement.
In April, Caleb was named Indiana’s Mr. Basketball after leading Fort Wayne
Blackhawk Christian to the Class 2A championship. Caleb averaged 21.5 points and Jon and Brie exploring Icon Park.
14 rebounds as a senior. His impressive stats also earned him a spot on the Purdue Database Developer Jon Barnes and his
University men’s basketball team where he will attend school this fall. daughter Brie took a vacation to Orlando
to kick off their spring. Over a year after
the pandemic began, Jon and Brie took all
the necessary safety precautions they could
to travel with confidence. They made sure
to test before and after they traveled, take
plenty of multivitamins for immune health,
and sanitize everywhere they went.
Their trip to Orlando was full of many fun
experiences, including a helicopter ride.
They got a chance to view the city from the
air once during the day and once at night
with the city lights. Jon says his favorite
part of the trip was flying over the Disney
Parks, “Funny how they don't look as big
from the sky,” he says, “it really makes you
respect the planning that goes into them.”
Both Jon and his daughter consider
themselves foodies, so they made sure to
hit up some amazing seafood joints and
eat like kings at Ripley’s Believe it or Not!
To round out their adventurous trip, they
took a stroll to the Ron Jon Surf Shop,
visited Cocoa Beach, and rode a Ferris
Caleb Furst has committed to play for Purdue. wheel in Icon Park. Jon is already dreaming
about the next spring break destination.
