THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT OF UNITED WAY Welcome
The services provided each year by United Way are invaluable to the betterment of to the
our communities, which is why Do it Best was fully engaged in this year’s campaign,
Best Place to Live, Work, & Play. Our team collectively raised over $246,000 with the pledges and
donations going toward strengthening communities all across the United States. Family
Fundraising efforts included games, events, and raffles, but none of it would have been possible
without the giving spirit of each Do it Best staff member. As serious as fundraising can be, team
members from our eight warehouses and Burnsville embraced the campaign as an opportunity to
have fun while giving back. This year, Dixon earned the coveted Spirit of Giving award for raising Dixon
over $28,000.

We extend our appreciation to the United Way representatives for their hospitality, and to everyone Jesse Floto
who took part in the planning and execution of another great campaign. Thanks, too, to everyone Paige Mitchem
who made a pledge to give their best in their community.

PROUD PARENTS: TWINS TAKE ACTION FOR TOTS Medina
Kenny Johnston
Inboard Transportation Clerk Amy Sommer’s twin daughters decided to give instead
of receive for their birthdays. To celebrate turning 11, Lexy and Liz had a party at the Montgomery
Roller Dome and asked their friends to bring donations for Toys for Tots instead of gifts. “The girls Nkosi Callender
each wanted to invite everyone from their classes at school,” said Amy. “Between the two of them
that meant inviting 45 kids. I knew we didn’t need that many presents so I suggested that we ask Calvin Eustache
for donations.” Lexy and Liz’s friends really came through - some of them brought more than one Daniel Hutting
toy for the drive. Jordan Mikel
They were able to drop off the Tiffaney Rodriguez
toys they collected at the Toys Lashon Smith
for Tots warehouse, and take
a tour of the facility to learn Woodburn
about the families the program Lorenzo Alvarez
helps. “I think going to drop Deleysmi Ambrocio Jimenez
off the toys and seeing where Osman Avila
everything happens really Jose Flores Nunez
helped the girls understand
how they were helping their Thomas Lentz
community,” remarked Amy. Gustabo Martinez
“I was very proud of them and Martinez Mateos
it was touching to hear on the Sergio Rios
tour about the kids who receive
the toys.” Anthony Ruvalcaba
