The Alabama State Council would like to have you in attendance at the SERC Conference, scheduled
for October 26-28th in Huntsville, Alabama at the Marriott at the US Space and Rocket Center.

The hotel looks like it is in an isolated place but within 2 miles of the hotel are all kinds of shopping areas,
restaurants and interesting attractions. Plan on coming early or staying beyond our conference if you
would like to take advantage of all Huntsville has to offer. To check out some of the attractions you can
go to UTube Huntsville and they have quite a few listed. Also, the breweries are becoming the thing in
Huntsville and if you would like to visit one of them, there are several listed. For the ones that are planning
to arrive on Thursday, Oct 26th, we have the opportunity to schedule a tour of the Botanical Gardens
which is located on 120 acres. For the ones that cannot do the walking, they provide 5 passenger golf
carts with a driver. But in order to do this we have to have a minimum of 10 and have to provide them a
count of visitors 2 weeks in advance and we have to pay with one check or credit card. The group rate
is $9.81 per adult which includes the taxes. We will plan to leave the hotel from the lobby area at 3:00
p.m. on the 26th and return around 5:30 p.m. as the gardens close at 5:00. If you would like to do this, we
will need to receive your check for $9.81 by October 10th. Please make it payable to: Betty Keeton and
send it to: 305 Freada Drive, Florence, AL 35630. In the event that we do not receive enough advance
registrations, your money will be refunded at our Conference.

Our themes are: "Reflections of the Fabulous 50's" for Friday night, "Reflections of the Roaring 20's" for the
Saturday luncheon and "Reflections of the Antebellum Days" for the Saturday banquet. You can dress
for the era of each if you wish, but it is not a requirement. We would like for Friday night to be a really fun
night and ask that you wear your poodle dog skirts or rolled up jeans with scarfs, saddle oxfords and
        bobby socks.

Per President Denise's request we are having some different activities. There will be a make-up/skin care
workshop on Friday afternoon from 2:30 to 3:30. There will also be an opportunity for you to learn line
dancing. This will take place on Thursday evening from 7:30 pm to 9:00. On Saturday following lunch,
there will be a fashion show with ESA members serving as models. It is not too early to make your hotel
reservation as the cut-off date for the great $102.00 rate is October 5th. That rate is good for up to 4 per
room. The deadline for registration, without having to pay extra, is October 20th.

There are some activities for the guys. We are having a great hospitality suite with all kinds of snacks and
beverages. Also golf will be scheduled for Saturday morning. If there is a golfer in your life bring him
along. There is a space on the Registration Form for golf sign-up.

The Alabama members eagerly await your visit. If you have never been to the great state of Alabama
        you have missed a treat.
