This year we are starting out with 5 chapters as we lost Alpha Alpha. Alpha
Alpha had been a chapter in Utah for over 65 years. Since there
membership had reached a total of four with several having health issue,
they decided to close the doors. We are happy that two of the members
of Alpha Alpha have transferred to Alpha Lambda.
Although we only have five chapters remaining, we are grateful that we have not lost a
significant number of members this past year. We get together at State Council meetings four
times a year and hold a convention every May. We continue to look at adding new members
which we did last year.
The State of Utah hosted the Rocky Mountain Roundup this year in August. At the time of this
writing there are 5 from Colorado, 2 from Idaho, 11 from Utah and 2 from New Mexico. We also
have 2 pending reservations at this time. With that said, we may have a total of 22 participates
for the 32 available accommodations.
In November, Alpha Rho has its annual Golf Tournament for St. Jude’s. We welcome anyone
who would love to see Moab to come and join us. It is a wonderful time of year in Moab and
the parks are beautiful and not crowded. The date of the tournament is November 11 and the
th
fee is $75 per person. Four sums are welcome or you can join others to make a foursome and
meet new people who support St. Jude’s. If you are interested, you may contact Terry Marsh at
