The ESA membership has been charged to INSPIRE this coming year and I hope
you will be inspired to step out of your comfort zone and consider running for an
elected office on the International Council and share your gifts with ESA.

Is it easy to put yourself out there? No, it isn’t! but that is how we push ourselves
and inspire others to do the same. Are you not ready? That is ok. Look around,
is there someone in your state that inspires you and you think is ready to take the
next step? Encourage them to complete a nomination form.

The 2018-2019 Nomination Form is available on the ESA Website in the Member Center under International
Council Forms. The form is also included in this bulletin (Page 35).

Nomination forms are due to me by November 15, 2017. If you have any questions please contact me
at skummer@cox.net or 620-617-7208. I look forward to receiving your completed nomination form.

                                                   Together we can Inspire!

Like so many of us, it’s not the faces on my TV who inspire me, it’s the people I meet
in my everyday life. Some of the people who have left the biggest impacts on my
                               life are ESA members.

I often wonder if ESA members know what an inspiration they are to the people around them. It takes a
special kind of person to spend so much of their time and resources helping others, with so little expected
in return. Every day ESA members go out into their communities and work to make the lives of those
around them better. They run registration tables, Dream Homes and yard sales to raise money to save the
life of a child in Memphis they will never meet. They send care packages and letters of love to our service
men and women overseas while vowing to take care of the families they left behind. They work at food
kitchens and shelters and support centers in their own communities. These members are an inspiration to
their friends and families and an inspiration to those they have never met.

As you participate in all your ESA activities throughout the year, please vow to share your inspiration for
doing what you do with those around you, and encourage them to join you. There is no better feeling
than knowing you are helping someone in need. Share that feeling with someone you love (or someone
you just met!) and inspire them to carry on the good and worthy works of ESA.

Throughout the year I hope to highlight some of the people who inspire me in my life. We also love to
feature member stories on our website and printed materials. If you have any members in your area who
you think deserve a special shout-out, please contact me.
