I would like to update you on my mailman! She has been very busy since I returned from
IC Convention, filling up my mailbox with checks from ESA chapters, states, regional
councils and many others sending me their IC Dues. Thank you to those who have sent
them and to those who haven’t, I look forward to receiving your checks in the very near
future.
I would like to give you a quick refresher in some ESA business that we must take care of! The fiscal year
for ESA is August 1 through July 31 . IC dues for chapters and subordinates (district or zone) are $40/year.
st
State Councils and Multi-State Councils are $45/year. If dues are not paid by April 30 , you will not be
th
considered in good standing and will not receive a vote at IC Convention. Please be sure to send me
your dues, the updated IC Dues form will be included in this issue (Page 39).
The ESA Tax Fact is due by September 15 and should be sent to IC Headquarters. This form can be found
th
on the ESA website. Late tax facts cannot be included on the IC Council blanket tax return.
Please share this information with all your chapters in your state. Please feel free to send me an email or
call me if you have any questions. I would be happy to help!

This is an exciting time for the ESA Foundation as we have now reached the $5 million
dollar mark in assets. Many years ago, that was an unbelievable and unattainable
dream of the Foundation, yet in this year, in 2017, it was accomplished.
In February of this year, the Board of Directors began an intensive strategic planning process to determine
what core values including expansion of grant and scholarship programs, development and growth of
co-sponsorships among other things.
At IC Convention in St. Louis this summer, ESA Foundation spent Sunday at Camp Hope touring the facility
for wounded warriors in honor of our Hope for Heroes program. We made a $500 donation to help with
their efforts.
