Whew… it is HOT in South Texas! I hope you are having an amazing Summer
and looking forward to the cooler days of Fall. I am truly honored to serve as
your IC Membership Chair. We are going to have a successful year of new
        member recruitment and retention.

One of the best ways to recruit new members is to invite them to join a community outreach
project. Your passion for service will be contagious. Do you need some ideas for an outreach
project to create in your area? Please check out the Inspiration Library to see what’s happening
in other chapters, districts or states – www.epsilonsigmaalpha.org/InspirationLibrary

I am pretty sure everyone is finalizing their chapter calendars for the new year. We hope that you
consider adding new activities that will help energize your current members and inspire new
        people to join ESA.
I am looking forward to hearing how your events go throughout the year.

                                      Amanda Rowland, Ohio

Amanda Rowland’s journey in ESA began in
2007 when she was sponsored by her aunt Brenda Meyers of
Ohio. This year Amanda started a new chapter, Pi Xi #5598
of Cincinnati, Ohio, which has 10 members, six of whom she
personally sponsored this year. In addition to serving as
chapter president of Pi Xi she is serving as President-Elect for
the Ohio State Council and even involving her young son
Landon in her St. Jude activities.

She is a shining example of ESA officers leading by example for membership
growth. Read more about Amanda’s story in the Fall JONQUIL.
