Manager from Haemone cs (M) Sdn. Bhd. represented AMMI by giving a Invest Penang SME Seminar -
talk on “Opportuni es in the Medical Device Industry“ during the seminar. Readiness for Medical Device

2016 Asia Pacific Medtech Forum
forum in Singapore.

Dato’ Dr Haminnuddin hosted the SMRJ team from Japan at Concorde
Hotel, Shah Alam. The objec ve of the mee ng was to introduce the SMRJ
CEO Networking Project in Tokyo February 2017-annual programme 10 November
business networking within the Japanese and the four ASEAN countries -
Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. Four slots are allocated to Visit by Organiza on for
AMMI members to join this project in Japan. Seven AMMI companies Small & Medium
applied to join the project. Enterprises and Regional
Status update 20 December: Dispo-Med Sdn. Bhd., Diptech Industries Sdn. Bhd., Innova on, Japan (SMRJ)
GMMI Sdn. Bhd. and Symmetry Medical Sdn. Bhd. were selected by SMRJ to
par cipate in the project.

Mr Hitendra Joshi met up with the

exactly the number of manufacturers in the country and also the products 14 December
they manufacture. This applies also to providers of services to the industry. MIDA Medical Device

coopera on needed from MOH to support local industry especially the Kuala Lumpur
smaller companies and those with higher local content and higher value-add.

Medical Technology Associa on of Mr Hitendra Joshi a ended the mee ng, which saw discussions by
India (MTaI) Board and Fraternity captains of the industry on Medical Device Rules, GST, Customs
Mee ng, New Delhi, India Du es, Orthopaedic and Opthalmic Projects and more.
