in other places, you can look just above the people. This may help. Later,
you´ll be more comfortable with this, and learn to look into the people’s eyes.

6. Behaviour: Think about your body language, be natural, and don´t
exaggerate. Let everybody see the screen – don´t block it. Don´t play with
any object in your hand or pocket, it distracts attention. Show enthusiasm
(very important!).
In individual parts follow this advice:
7. Beginning. Don´t apologise or make excuses. If your English is poor, people
will notice (actually, in this case you shouldn´t be presenting in English). If you
are nervous, saying that will only increase your nervousness. They don´t know.
So greet your audience with a smile, set the scene and establish a link with
them.
8. Main body. Don´t overload the main part with too much information or too
many minor details. Emphasise and link main points. Repeat key concepts
and give periodic recapitulations. Maintain logical flow of ideas.
9. Ending. Don´t just let your presentation fade out, and don´t end abruptly by
saying “That’ all” or “Questions?” Manage the time of your presentation so
that you have several moments to conclude properly. Link the conclusion
with the beginning (aim of your research how it was reached). Don´t
introduce any new information at the end. Always finish your presentation
with a clear statement, so that everybody know that this is the end.
10. Questions. If you have survived the presentation, don´t relax before the
question time – concentrate on inquiries from the audience and do your best
to understand. Answer clearly and briefly. If you don´t know the answer to a
question, be honest and say so. Remember: you task is to deal with the
situation, not to answer every (stupid) question!
