tions, mining and tourism.
What challenges must DR overcome?
I believe an update of current legislations is needed in order to
update the incentives for foreign investments.This includes the
Law 16-95 on Foreign Investment, Law 158-01 on Tourism’s
incentives, Law 8-90 on Promoting Free Zones and Law 28-
01 on Special Zone for Border Development, among other laws
which support investment in the country.
How many Members has Asiex?
TheAsiex currently groups 70 of the most important foreign invest-
ment companies.We expect that in the next few years, 30 more will
be a partofit.The goal isto have 100companiesaffiliated.
