                                                                          ACTIONS In order to motivate investors to be interes-
                                                                          ted in the Dominican export sector, the Government,
                                                                          through the Export and Investment Center (CEI-RD),
                                                                          has developed a program of counseling and training
                                                                          so that the companies get to know the process to
                                                                          produce here and sell abroad. One of the actions is
                                                                          the elaboration of a protocol for the management of
                                                                          perishable goods for export by air, that develops along
                                                                          with The Dominican Agribusiness Board (JAD) and the
                                                                          Departament Aeroportuario (DA).The objective is to
                                                                          promote the culture of quality and competitiveness of
                                                                          the Dominican production, guaranteeing their safety
                                                                          and the high quality standards required for export.
                                                                          In addition, the CEI-RD created the follow-up Commi-
                                                                          ttee for the quality and safety of exported food. This
                                                                          Committee follows up the program for the reduction
                                                                          of product rejected in the European Union, which has
                                                                          given excellent results.
                                                                          These achievements have been reached thanks to the
                                                                          modernization in logistics, the handling of products
                                                                          and transport by different routes, installation of refri-
                                                                          gerators in the main ports and the appropriate use of
                                                                          transport means.
