Repower of a 10‑Pin Boat with a 14‑Pin Engine

• If adapters are used, a separate CAN (blue data cable) harness will be required for SmartCraft instrumentation. Remove
the terminator resistor on the engine and connect the CAN harness.
• If a 14‑pin engine (limited to 15 amps of accessory current) is installed into a 10‑pin wired boat, the boat accessories may
need to be rewired to meet the new amperage limitation.
• Accessory kits are available to meet accessory load requirements greater than 15 amps.
• The SmartCraft fuel tank, auxiliary tank, and paddle wheel harness has been changed on MerCruiser to match the harness
used by Mercury Outboard. The new harness part number is 84‑859743T03. If replacing a 10‑pin engine that had
SmartCraft fuel or paddle wheel, the new harness will need to be installed.
• 84‑866337T01 ‑ 14‑pin engine to 10‑pin boat harness.
• 84‑892444T02 ‑ 10‑pin engine to 14‑pin boat harness, includes 15‑amp fuse.
