decision maker in executing the curriculum. He writes lessons plan
or unit plan daily, weekly or yearly. He prepares activities for
students to do, modifies curriculum to suit the learner’s

role in shaping the school curriculum/the implemented curriculum.
They are responsible in the formulation of the schools’ vision,
philosophy, and mission which must be aligned to the curriculum
change. They provide necessary leadership in evaluating teaching
personnel and school program, keeping records of curriculum and
report learning outcomes. They have the responsibility of running
the entire school effectively, oversee the smooth transition of the
child from one grade to another, they should see to it that the
curriculum is implemented vertically and horizontally with
minimal overlaps, they need to ensure continuity, relevance,
balance, so that overall curriculum will produce a balanced
individual as stated in the aspired curriculum.
Parents Parents support curriculum implementation. Effective parental
involvement in school affairs is linked to high quality educational
experiences of the children. The parents’ involvement extend from
the confine of the school to the home, continuing the philosophy
of education in the curriculum change
Community Community involvement include professional organisations, civil
members societies as well as individuals. The community members can
provide expertise, can substitute for what resources are needed to
implement the curriculum. Their roles are increasingly being
recognised as a necessity in ensuring success in curriculum
implementation.
Government as Government officers include those from the various departments
stakeholders of education, professional regulatory commissions, other related
ministries, as well as officers on the ground from district education
departments and state level departments. They are very crucial in
implementing the curriculum and they need to understand the
curriculum change. Often issues of curriculum implementation
stem from the silo mentalities among these governmental offices.
