IFA intern
Sorry to see you go so soon!
Dear Sherrie,
Where is that cool Star Trek beaming technology when
you need it?! After several years of braving the A3 mul-
tiple times a week to get to us here at IFA from the other
side of Würzburg, Sherrie Blackman-Linse has decided
it’s time to work closer to home.
For the English department, her departure means the
loss of a multitalented colleague whom we’ve come to
value for her professional expertise, linguistic abilities
and her teaching skills since her arrival in 2018. An
experienced translator and interpreter, Sherrie brought
students and colleagues useful insights into her work-
ing world, most recently in the newly introduced subject
of ‘Berufspraxis’ in the Fachakademie.

We have truly appreciated her willingness to take on
new subjects – first and foremost working herself into the
specialization ‘Wirtschaft’ – with an unmatched ener-
gy and positive attitude. Students will miss Sherrie as a
professional role model, but certainly also for her ready
smile and practical, upbeat nature.
We wish Sherrie all the best both personally and profes-
sionally, and if we do manage improve the commuting
technology someday, we’d welcome her back in a flash!
