category is based on the dose rate at any point on the
surface of shielding container. Category I packaging
when the dose rate at any point on the surface is not
more than 0.005 mSv/hour. Category II when the dose
rate is larger than 0.005 mSv/hr and not more than 0.5
mSv/hour. The packaging is fallen in category III when
the surface dose rate is larger than 0.5 mSv/hour and
not more than 2 mSv/hr. These categories are used to
assign the index of transportation.
