tion detectors used by radiological personnels to mea-
sure ambient dose rate in working area. These portable
instruments usually equipped with rate meters. Read-
out in rate should be changed to absolute value first
before determine the absorbed dose into the surround-
ing.
Only an authorized personnel such as the radia-
tion protection technicians are responsible to ensure
survey meter always valid and well calibrated. The
personnel with the authorization have responsible for
following operations in the field to help assure that ra-
diation protection policies are carried out and that jobs
are implemented in accordance with the ALARA prin-
ciple. Their responsibilities include:
1. Providing assistance and advice to workers to
motivate them to adopt an ALARA behaviour.
2. Following jobs to ensure the respect of safety
and radiation protection procedures.
3. In some situations, stopping work in case of seri-
ous deviation from dosimetric objectives, or when
there is a significantly increasing radiological risk
for workers.
Recently, there are several types of survey meter
or portable electronic dosimeter that can measure α,
β, γ and X-ray radiation dose. Neutron survey meter
as discussed above is used together with other survey
