able to undertake the tasks professionally.

During the industrial placement, the student will sometimes come to a ‘dead end’ situation in his/her work.
Should this happen, the Supervisor and Coordinator have to assist the student in overcoming this problem.
Some of the factors that contribute to this situation include: lack of knowledge and preparation on the
student’s part in carrying out the tasks, lack of understanding, lack of skills, lacking confidence, and
                       personal problems.

                       Assessment

The Industrial Placement program is regarded similarly to the other core courses in the faculty. As such,
this Industrial Placement program will also be assessed like any other core courses in the faculty.

A PASS/FAIL grade will be determined by the agency’s supervisor that have been assigned by the agency.

The grade for the Industrial Placement will be assessed on three components: supervisor’s evaluation
report, log book report and industrial training report.

                       Report Preparation

The student’s Industrial Placement report is important and is the main aspect in this assessment. As such,
the student must ensure the report’s quality is guaranteed.

The student must submit two (2) types of report after completing the Industrial Placement. The reports are
                       as follow:

o Log Book – Log Book contains the information related to the work activities done on a weekly
basis during the industrial placement. Important information contained in the log book should
include what the student has been doing, who is involved, and how the tasks have been carried
out. The Log Book must be endorsed by the Agency’s Supervisor.
