Training, alongside the log book. The report must correspond to the format set by the
faculty.
Social Work students are required to submit two additional reports: (i) Case Study
Report and (ii) Project Report. Both reports need to be submitted to Industrial Training
program coordinator for assessment one (1) weeks upon completion of their Industrial
Training, alongside the log book and the agency report (Industrial Training Report).
Supervisor and Supervision/Role of Agency
It is difficult to formulate a specific training proposal as it has to take into consideration that each agency
has different work activities and rely on other factors. As such, the faculty hopes that the agency will
prepare a training program with the faculty’s cooperation.
The faculty’s supervisor must make an appointment with the supervisor at the agency, meet the agency’s
supervisor and the student, and provide further information on the faculty if this is the first time the agency
has accepted our student.
The faculty’s supervisor must also obtain information on the student’s work activity, performances and
other activites that the student is involved in.
The agency’s supervisor is responsible for the student’s work activities at the organization and to arrange
discussion sessions with the student. In the event that the supervisor goes on leave, the next senior officer
would have to undertake the task of supevising the student.
At the agency, the agency’s supervisor will have to equip the student with the appropriate responsibilities
as a professional. The supervisor should discuss with all the personnel concerning the student’s aims and
objectives. The supervisor will have to introduce the student to all the agency’s personnel.
Student’s Responsibility/Reminder to Student
a. Lodging: the student is responsible for their own accommodation. The faculty is not
responsible for the student’s accommodation. However, the faculty will consider the
distance and location between the student’s accommodation and the organization where
the student will be placed.
b. Time Allocation: the student must abide by the agency’s working or office hours during
the Industrial Placement. The student is not allowed to work less than the time allocated,
or be outside the agency for the whole duration of the student’s Industrial Placement.
c. On leave: the student is not allowed to take any leave from work during the Industrial
Placement except for medical leave or public holiday. When on medical leave, the student
must present a medical certificate that is recognized by the university. The student must
provide the medical certificate to the agency and a copy to the faculty.
d. Student’s Safety: the student must consider his/her own safety at all times.
e. Discipline: the student must adhere to the discipline according to the rules established by
the university and agency where the student is placed at all times. The student can be
failed if he/she violates the discipline or acts in a way which tarnishes the reputation of
the university.
f. Private and Confidential Information: the student must protect any information deemed
to be secret during the Industrial Placement at all times. This information must be kept
and cannot be disclosed without the organization’s permission. In a certain situation, the
student would have to sign akujanji as the student’s acknowledgement to protect secret
information.
