                       Objectives

                       The main objectives of the industrial training placement are to provide:

                              a.     Combine knowledge and skill they have learned to working world reality, particularly
                                     jobs related to Social Sciences (C5);

                              b.     Identify lifelong learning skills and job opportunities available at agencies that offer
                                     services within the period set by the University (A4);

                              c.     Demonstrate professionalism as well as moral and ethical values as a trainee under the
                                     supervision of appointed officer at the agency (A3); and

                              d.     Demonstrate ability to work individually as well as team based environment (A3).


                       Internship Duration

                       The duration of the Industrial Training for Social Work Studies Program is twelve (12) weeks (minimum)
                       and will be carried out in the beginning of the intra-semester session, and is limited to final year students
                       only of the program only.

                       Meanwhile, intake of 2015/2016 onwards will register under new code SSF2115 (Industrial Placement)
                       for Industrial Relation and Labour Studies, Development Planning and Management Studies, Politic and
                       Government Studies, International Relations and Anthropology and Sociology; the duration of Industrial
                       Training is ten (10) weeks (minimum) and will be carried out in the beginning of the intra-semester
                       session, and for second year students of these five program only.

                       It is recommended that students are placed in various departments of organisations deemed appropriate
                       with the student’s specialization.


                       Industrial Training Track

                       Students have four (4) tracks for industrial training as an option. UNIMAS under University Industry
                       Centre (UnIC) had come out with four (4) tracks of industrial training which are:

                       a.  Industrial Track (Industry or UNIMAS)

                          Industry: The application for industrial training to industry (government agencies or private agencies)
                          will be incharge directly by faculty

                          PTJ in UNIMAS: The application for this track must go through UnIC

                       b.  Reserach/Project based Track

                          Students will undergo industrial training either under research grant, contract research, consultation
                          project or any registered grant/project.

                       c.  Entrepenuership Track

                          Student who will undergo internship under this track must registeres with UNIMAS Apprentice and
                          KOSISWA. Students have two options. First option; operate their own business and must have the
                          registered business license. Second option; doing the internship through apprenticeship with business
                          mentor (appoint by UnIC).
