2013 Annual General Meeting

Carol welcomed the 68 people in attendance and the guest presenters Paul Lehman & Liam Towers. Caleb Yee
of the Mississippi Valley Office was also in attendance to answer questions and provide information
Minutes of the 2012 AGM
Minutes of the 2012 AGM had been available on line as well as mailed out to those who do not have e-mail.
Jane Berryman moved that the minutes be approved. This was seconded by Rem Westland. Carried.
President’s Report- Carol Coupland
Carol introduced the current executive and thanked them for their work over the past year.

The Rideau Valley Conservation Authority (RVCA)
RVCA has created a survey for lake and river users that asks questions about algae and aquatic plants on their
water body. This survey is being conducted in response to an increasing number of concerns about algae and
aquatic plants in recent years. Please take 15 minutes to respond to this survey. Handouts are available or visit
our website www.slpoa.ca and click on the RVCA survey.
Mississippi Valley Watershed
Mississippi Valley Conservation terminated the FLOOD WATCH statement issued June 27 for Dalhousie Lake
in early July. Water levels and flows for Dalhousie Lake and Mississippi Lake are expected to return to normal
conditions for this time of year by mid July barring any significant rainfall. Water levels on all upper lakes will
also be slowly returning to normal conditions over the next few weeks.
