           Dr.  Sajitha   Bashir stated that  school outreach
           programme was organised to create an awareness
           among the children  on how to learn other than
           what is already learned, how to develop the skills
           and knowledge and the responsibility to utilise the
           acquired skills and knowledge for the betterment of
           the society. She put forward the relevance of self-
           learning and advised the children to focus on self-
           learning  to gain more  knowledge.  She suggested
           learners to concentrate learning outside the syllabus
           of textbooks. She stated that efforts of Vakkom
           Moulavi and other social reformers enabled mostly
           women  and marginalised  people  irrespective  of
           religion to attain education in Kerala.
