THE VALUES OF THE CULTURE OF JAMBI TRADITIONAL SELOKO
CULTURE AS A TEACHING MATERIAL FOR LOCAL CONTENT
CULTURE EFFORTS TO PREVENT THE TEAK SELF OF THE MALAY
NATION

Abstract
This article describes the cultural values in the Seloko Adat Melayu Jambi as cultural
teaching materials containing local Jambi Malay in secondary schools. This research
uses a qualitative descriptive method, by describing the facts which are then followed
by analysis and drawing conclusions. What is being described is the cultural value
contained in the Seloko Adat Melayu Jambi. The results showed that the cultural
values contained in the Seloko Adat Melayu Jambi include; 1) cultural values in
human relations with God, which reflect always being devoted to God, 2) cultural
values in human relations with society reflect always the existence of deliberation, 3)
cultural values in human relationships reflect always helping help, and 4) cultural
values in human relations with oneself, reflects hard work. The conclusion of this
study is that the cultural values contained in the Seloko Adat Melayu Jambi are cultural
values as local identities that can be used as teaching materials for local content in the
field of culture, and also as efforts to maintain identity as a Malay nation.
