Abstract
Online learning is a platform that is globally accepted in the process of delivering
quality education. However, Bentong Community College is still in the early stages
of using technology in ensuring optimal student participation. Hence, the objective of
this study is to investigate students’ readiness towards online learning, particularly the
implementation of Google Classroom in Bentong Community College. However,
there are several identified constraints in the online learning process including
technical problems related to Internet access that discourage students. There are also
restrictions on access to learning platforms that do not allow students to access certain
websites. Questionnaires related to online learning were distributed to Bentong
Community College students, involving students from the Information Technology
Certificate Programme, Building Construction Technology Certificate Programed,
Business Operations Certificate Programme, and Electrical Technology Programed.
The collected data were analysed using the Statistical Package for Social Science
(SPSS) and Partial Least Squares (PLS). The results of this study showed that students
at the Bentong Community College are ready to employ Google Classroom for online
learning because it is an appropriate platform to create presentations, interact with
lecturers, and download lecture notes. This study suggests a combined initiative by all
relevant parties including course instructors, students, administrators and college
management to provide continuous support in maximizing online learning at Bentong
Community College.
