Mohandas “Mahatma” Gandhi
Indian lawyer Mohandas Gandhi was
famous for his NONVIOLENT CAMPAIGNS
AGAINST INJUSTICE. He led the successful
fight for Indian independence from Britain by
staging hunger strikes and sit-down protests,
disobeying unfair laws, or refusing to work.
In 1948, he was killed at a prayer meeting
