Assassination at Sarajevo
       On June 28, 1914, Austria-Hungary’s Archduke
Franz Ferdinand was visiting the Serbian city
of SARAJEVO. Protestors threw a bomb at the
Archduke’s motorcade, but he survived. Then, later,
another member of the gang spotted
the Archduke in his car. He
                                 fired his gun, killing both
                                   Franz Ferdinand and his
                                    wife, Sophie.
