Atlantic Circuit of discovery
Paul and Sheryl have been our mentors for
many years as we have followed their ex-
ploits by watching their ‘Distant Shores’ TV
programs. They were planning a trans Atlan-
tic trip via the Cape Verdes to Antigua and it
was very easy for us to fall in with their plans
Antigua
to make the crossing. We left Cape Verde at
the same time and arrived 13 days later 2
hours after Distant Shores III. It was a very proud and emotional moment
to arrive in Antigua and be greeted by the crew of Distant Shores III.
We flew home from Antigua for Christmas and our next decision was
where to head to in the New Year. Our tenure in the Caribbean would be
limited by our desire to not be in the area for the Hurricane Season starting
at the end of June. In the end we island hopped south to Martinique be-
fore sailing north and then northwest to the Bahamas. We returned across
the Atlantic to Lanzarote via Bermuda and the Azores. Kered arrived in
Lanzarote on 2nd August with 10,825 NM under her keel!
Our first year on board Kered has unfolded a fabulous adventure and we
thank Discovery Yacht Group for their support in making this dream come
