S110 New Beds
It should also be remembered that the new mattresses will be about
twice the height of the old ones so you will need to decide what to do
with the surrounding cushioning that holds the old ones in place. We de-
cided to remove this and have the new
ones cover this space. We also decided It should also be
to remove the part that I think is de- remembered that the new
signed to be used as a seat for the mattresses will be about
dresser. This gives more space at that twice the height of the old
side of the bed and head height there
didn’t make the seat very usable any- ones
way. When adapting the surround I
didn’t need as many joinery skills as first thought. It is only screwed down
and is actually in 2 parts so an easy cut to remove the seat area, although
you need to keep some, as it supports the head of the mattresses. The 2
parts also means it is the right height to keep the full length of the base
flat.
The templates were sent to Ship Shape and the completed mattresses
were delivered to the marina. Once we got them in the cabin, it’s a tight
squeeze though the
hatch and cabin
doors, they fit like a
glove. The quality
appears very good,
obviously it will take
time to see how
they last but they
are very comforta-
ble.
So we are very
pleased with our
purchase and in
hindsight would still
do exactly the same.
There are some
