8. Watanabe desu.
9. Sasaki desu.
10. Kobayashi desu.
EXERCISE 1
Say it in Japanese
You are meeting someone for the first time. Say the following in Japanese.
1. I’m (your full name). Nice to meet you.
2. Are you Ms. Sato? How do you do? Here is my card. Nice to meet you.
3. Are you Mr. Ito? How do you do? I’m (your full name). Nice to meet you.
4. You are good at English, aren’t you?
5. My Japanese is bad. I’m sorry.
EXERCISE 2
Role Play
1. Meet Ms. Honda, a business associate, for the first time.
2. Exchange your business cards. Confirm her name.
3. You’ve been complimented on your Japanese speaking ability. Respond
humbly.
4. You hear a co-worker speaking English. Compliment his English.
5. Ask Ms. Sato if Mr. Suzuki, a co-worker, is good at English and if Ms.
Sasaki, a boss, is good at English.
