5. Do you mean Ms. Wang? She is an American (while others may not be).

1. At a party for new students, approach a person called Ms. Sato and introduce
yourself.
2. Find out her nationality.
3. Find out if she is a student.
4. Mention that you are a junior and then find out if she is, too.

5. Comment on Ms. Sato’s excellent English skills, and then ask if she is good
at French, too.

Michael attends a business conference. He checks in at the registration desk.
Staff: Excuse me. Your name (please)?
Sumimasen. Onamae wa?
すみません。お名前は？

Michael: I’m Michael Hill.
Maikeru Hiru desu.
マイケル・ヒルです。

Staff: I’m sorry. (I didn’t catch it.)
