I’m rushed off
Qmy feet, how will
I find time to work out where all
this fabric goes?
A: If you’re keen to try a wrap, find a local sling meet or
library where someone can show you how it works and
let you practise. Find one near you at slingpages.co.uk.
Many sling libraries have weighted dolls on hand so you
can get to grips with how you use your sling before your
baby even arrives. If you haven’t got time to get
face-to-face advice, there are lots of websites
with video tutorials and practical advice
to follow. Or try a soft carrier.
How do I keep
Q my baby safe
while babywearing? Can I have
a hot drink or do the cooking?
A: Be mindful of your baby when you are carrying him
and don’t drink anything hot while he is in the carrier.
Your little one probably won’t worry too much about
the odd sandwich crumb landing on his head, but be
careful about eating anything that could spill onto him.
Your centre of gravity changes when you
are babywearing, so you’ll need to be more
aware of your surroundings and
take extra care on stairs or
slippery surfaces.
