Ural owls belong to the same genus as
tawny owls so bear some similarities:
they are both round-headed wood owls
without ear tufts. Here, a solitary female
Ural owl flies through the cold January
air in search of prey. In spring, she will
join her mate to raise their brood, laying
eggs from March to mid-April.
