                                              Zandomeneghi built this
                                              monument to Titian in place of the
                                              one conceived by Canova himself.

                                 Canova’s Tomb
                      Canova designed, but never actually
                     made, a Neo-Classical marble pyramid
                     like this as a monument for Titian. After
                     Canova’s death in 1822, his pupils used
                     a similar design for their master’s tomb.
