                                     The Hall of Olympus shows Giustiniana,
                                     mistress of the house and wife of Venetian
                                     ambassador Marcantonio Barbaro, with her
                                     youngest son, wetnurse and family pets.















                                        In the Crociera, the cross-shaped central
                                        hall, servants peer round false doors, while
                                        imaginary landscapes blur the boundary
                                        between the house interior and the garden.

                                                  living and plenty.
