Vulture

                                         Sometimes vultures eat so much

                                              they’re too heavy to fly!

                         A
group of vultures circling overhead is a sign that there is an

animal carcass nearby. These birds ride warm air currents,
wheeling around while scanning the ground for their preferred food—

dead animals. Their massive beak helps them tear meat and snap
bones as they squabble with one another to get the best scraps.

Many vultures are bald. Feathers on their face would get covered in
blood when they poke their snakelike neck into bodies. Their naked

head also helps them stay a good temperature whether it is hot or
cold. People often think vultures are dirty, but without their help

clearing away carcasses, our world would be a messier place.
