Raccoon
Raccoons often go fishing. They know how
to scoop fish right out of the water!
I f you look at a raccoon, you’ll see it looks like it’s wearing a
mask. These playful mammals are very clever with their hands.
They can open doors, flip lids off boxes, and get inside trash cans.
Some of them even steal people’s picnics or enter houses to steal
food! A raccoon is happy to eat almost anything it can find.
Raccoons are common in Canada and the USA. In the past, they
mostly lived in woods and grassy places, but now many of them have
moved into towns. Raccoons are good climbers, so they can scurry
up walls to make their home in lofts and attics. At night, they growl
and chatter, and some people think these bold animals are pests.
